This recipe replaces creme, yogurt, butter, canned tomatoes and jalapenos that is usually used in most recipes with a few spoons of the Original Mother Sauce and Cashumel Spicy Sun-dried Tomato.  We tried it and think it tastes close.  Please let us know what you think.


  • 3 Tbsp Original Cashumel
  • Juice of 1/2 a lemon (about 30 ml of Juice)
  • 1 tsp.  ground turmeric
  • 2 tsp. garam masala
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 cup soy (dry) then reconstitute in vegetable stock ( or fried tofu also works)
  • 6 tbsp. Becel vegan
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 1 jar of Spicy Sun-dried tomato Cashumel


Reconstitute the dry soy curls and marinate with the 1st five ingredients.  Marinate for about 30 minutes

Sauté onions in 4 tbsp of Becel until soft then add garlic, ginger, paprika and cook for 5 minutes

Add in the marinated soy curls and sauté for another 5 minutes

Add water and cinnamon stick and bring to a boil.

Add the Spicy Sun-dried Tomato Cashumel and continue to simmer on low for 10 minutes.

Stir in the remaining Becel and continue to simmer for 5 mins.

Serve & enjoy
